I used to write prediction's every year, as do/did many others still - I also like reading others. This one intrigued me, from those who remember Tomorrows World - here's how they predicted 2025, 30 years ago!
Heres a quick summary from the BBC New, then full link below too!
Operator is here, OpenAI I's answer to the Agentic AI Space. I had queued up a TechCrunch article to say its rumoured to be released soon.. but the actual release beat me to it! Quick overview below and video demo!
I still believe this to be one of the hottest areas to spend time in 2025, and the race is not slowing down anytime soon.
Every major firm in this space is releasing product and capability for Enterprise's to take advantage of this from Google'sown Agentspace, Salesforce force Agentforce, ServiceNow now Agents and of course Microsoft AI
With the US change in Administration along came Stargate, a $500b investment between OpenAI Oracle and SoftBank Group Corp. What caught my eye too was how its been funded and if the money exists post a comment from Elon on X. See Atul Goyal take below on what needs to be done.
Finally, if you have 2.5 hours, heres the Lemonade investor day (I'm still working through it, but had Gemini summarise it too in a heartbeat!), Thanks Dan Huddart at Avantia for pointing out too. Theres a lot to agree with here, and I still think Daniel Schreiber is one of my favourite Insurance orators. Simply put;
Because insurers forged in a bygone era are structurally disadvantaged in the age of the machine.

Prior to the Stargate announcement this week, the UK also had our own AI moment, which was welcomed with open arms from across the UK. Proof of course will be in the pudding, or in this case, the delivery and execution!
The UK set to introduce digital driving licences, in fact gov services in the UK have had an uplift and promise of investment - I think some of the Government Digital Services are truly first class.
Others, less so - this is scary - 7m hours wasted ON HOLD to HMRC (IRS equivalent).
Speaking of AI predictions, I liked these from Greg Isenberg - the No 1 prediction - Shadow AI! We are seeing it already. Read on!
With EV sales challenged across the world (and a new EO in the US), China’s EV sales are set to overtake traditional cars years ahead of west! This to me is not if, but only when for the west.
And finally, proof, the big tech don't always get it right either - Apple suspends AI-generated news alert service after a BBC complaint. The summaries are hilarious in most cases, but can also be damming given they are providing false information
To finish on a positive note,
Thanks as always!, until next time! Nigel
